From June 14–17, 2026, the picturesque town of Bled hosted the IMTB 2026 – Implementation of Microreactor Technology in Biotechnology conference, welcoming researchers, engineers, and industry professionals from around the world.
Over four days, the conference served as a vibrant platform for exchanging knowledge and discussing the latest advances in microfluidics, biotechnology, analytical science, and bioprocess engineering. The interdisciplinary nature of IMTB continues to make it one of the leading events for professionals working at the interface of these rapidly evolving fields.
A Meeting Point for Science and Innovation
The scientific program featured presentations from internationally recognized researchers, covering topics ranging from enzymatic microreactors and lab-on-a-chip technologies to analytical microdevices, cell-based systems, and process intensification. Beyond the technical sessions, the conference provided valuable networking opportunities and fostered new collaborations between academia and industry.
Live Tabletop TEM Demonstrations
One of the technological highlights of IMTB 2026 was the live demonstration of the Delong LVEM5, the world’s only tabletop transmission electron microscope.
Unlike a traditional exhibition display, attendees had the opportunity to see the instrument operating in real time, experience the workflow firsthand, and explore the possibilities of compact electron microscopy for research and analytical applications.
The live demonstrations attracted considerable interest from scientists looking for accessible, high-performance TEM solutions that can be integrated into modern laboratory environments.
Bringing Electron Microscopy Closer to Researchers
The Delong LVEM5 demonstrates how transmission electron microscopy no longer needs to be limited to large, dedicated microscopy facilities. Its compact footprint, ease of operation, and high-quality imaging make it an attractive solution for universities, research institutes, and industrial laboratories seeking faster access to TEM analysis.
Conversations during the conference highlighted the growing demand for practical, user-friendly electron microscopy systems that combine performance with accessibility.
Looking Ahead
IMTB 2026 once again demonstrated the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in advancing biotechnology and microreactor technologies. The event provided an inspiring environment for exchanging ideas, discovering innovative solutions, and building new professional relationships.
Congratulations to the organizers for another successful conference, and thank you to everyone who contributed to making IMTB 2026 an engaging and inspiring scientific event. We look forward to the next edition.
