We are pleased to announce the successful installation of the Procon-X CT-Compact130 at the Institute of Geography and Earth Sciences at the University of Pécs. This cutting-edge CT system now supports the research efforts of the Department of Geology and Meteorology, enhancing studies on low-temperature (<300°C) geological processes, mineralogical and geochemical reactions, and sedimentary processes.
A key contributor to this project was Dr. János Kovács, Associate Director of the Institute and Head of the Department, whose research focuses on low-temperature geological processes, mineralogy, and geochemistry. The CT-Compact130, featuring advanced imaging technology, providing researchers with new possibilities for the precise analysis of sedimentary rocks and mineralcomposition, grain size, shape and orientation, pore characterization and connectedness, and fracture patterns.
Thanks to its high-resolution imaging and non-destructive analysis capabilities, this modern system represents a significant advancement for the department, enabling the detailed examination of geological samples while preserving their integrity. The installation process was seamless, and the device is already contributing to ongoing research projects.
ImageScience is proud to provide the CT-Compact130 solution to the University of Pécs, supporting the academic community with advanced imaging technologies. We are excited to see how this innovative tool will contribute to the future of geoscientific research.
